The Manchester Housing Authority is governed b a five member board of commissioners. Board Members are appointed by the Mayor along with the City Council Members for a two year term. The Board of Commissioners consist of a Chairman and a Vice-Chairman and three Board of Commisoners. Board Members serve on the board as a non salaried public officals. A resident living in public housing authority units can also serve on the Board of Commissioners. At this time the Manchester Housing Authority has solicited for a resident to serve on the Board, but no resident has accepted the position at this time. The Manchester Housing Authority will continue to solicit for a resident to serve on the Board.

Major Responsiblities of a Board Member:
Abide by the Articles of Corporation and the By-laws.
Be familiar with HUD rules and regulations pertaining to the Regulatory Agreement and Subsidy Contract includes Fair Housing Laws.
Oversse the performance of the management agent.
Be an effective representative of the organization to the community.
